Where would you rather live, in a house, an apartment, condominium or a cave?

Condominium indicates a type of ownership rather than type of physical building.  Any type home can be owned in the condo manner...owning and maintaining part of it while the collective of owners own common areas, elect a board to run them, and pay a monthly assessment.  Subdivisions of individual homes  can be a condominium.
With that said, I prefer condominium ownership but I like the townhouse type of home...no one over or under me but attached on the sides.  Cooling cost is lower but there is no sacrifice of privacy or being subjected to others' noises.  Also, I prefer to own my home rather than renting, although renting is very nice and provides freedom from repair costs.  For me, ownership, is preferred and wiser financially. • I'd rather own a house, but right now I live in an apartment. I sometimes refer to my room as a "cave", though.

A separate house from the neighbors.

Separate house. Dog-sized dogs (as opposed to tiny little yappers that are more  of an oversized hamster than a REAL dog) need a yard.

Every type of home has drawbacks. I live in a condo (apartment) which is a compromise that I'm not sure I like all that much.

As caver, the last place I'd want to live is a cave! :-)

I'll stick with my Edwardian end-of-terrace house, thank-you!

(A natural cave that is - there are many examples of very good artificially-built underground homes, excavated back into a cliff or hillside.)
