If you accidentally hurt your pet do you think he/she would realize you did not mean to and quickly forgive you?

My cat was sleeping on the floor beneath the bookshelf when I went to take out a book then one fell hitting her. She jumped up and ran off a short distance then turned and looked at me angrily.  I went over and patted her and apologized to her in a nice voice and she forgave me with a nice cat smile. Good cat!

    My cat like to sneak up behind me. I will turn around and step on her tail or something. I believe she thinks it a game. She forgives me.
