No, it doesn't make them second class citizens. Authority is NOT a right. It's a responsibility. We don't give children the authority / responsibility of adults. Do that mean children are 2nd class citizens? Obviously not. You're talking nonsense.

Male authority / responsibility is just a role. A leader is not superior to a follower. There is a difference between a leader and a dictator. In a free society, the follower chooses the leader. In free societies, women choose their husbands. Your tendency to see the leader as superior to the follower comes from an authoritarian impulse.

Authority is rightfully male because men are more psychologically capable of taking responsibility for that authority. When a couple make a decision together, and everything goes badly, women have to tendency to consciously / subconsciously blame their husband. To most women, everything is always someone else's fault.

There is no such thing as equality between men and women. It's just the ideological ramblings of the far left. There is patriarchy and there is matriarchy. Patriarchy works. Matriarchy doesn't. Seeing women hen pecking their husbands is one of the most pathetic sights imaginable. It's the natural order of things that a man is the head of the family and anything else is profoundly dysfunctional.

Paul wrote that "I" give men authority in a church, not that God or Jesus did.  In the churches he founded or advised. But even in some of his churches women preached and taught! The authority id God's . Through Jesus Christ.  And each church (the gathered members) elects its own elders (pastors who preach and teach) and officers (deacons).  But the authority rests in Jesus as expressed through the gathering of a church's members.
