No in most cases they didn't know them. Though if I were bad-mouthing them, which I tried not to do, they might agree. I don't think its a goof thing to do that anyway. We like to think we are just the perfect partner for them but I really think to say anything suggesting that is to disrespect their past. None of us is without fault of some kind so why feel called upon to point out those of a partner's ex?
No. They don't know each other nor would they stoop so low as to even bring any past relationship up. I make it a habit NOT to bring or talk about my past relationships or lovers with my current. I find that in poor taste on either side.
