Yes. We eat a plant based diet, and even the produce marked organic, probably isnt. You can get away from a lot of the poisons they put in the food, like stay away from anything processed or canned, buy organic to minimize the pesticide intake, stay away from meat (humans are actually not carnivores, we are designed to eat a plant based diet. The shape of our teeth, the structure of our digestive tract, all indicate we are not meant to eat meat. I think eggs are excellent, stay away from hormone fed chickens, but the egg itself is loaded with good cholesterol and protein, and there isnt anything better for your brain. The brain is made mostly of cholesterol, and it thrives off eggs, which are actually whole cells, packed with almost every nutrition a human needs to stay healthy. So yes, we can try to minimize known carcinogens that are in meat, dairy and processed food, try to buy pesticide free produce, and stay away from fast food, but we still have to contend with the crap they put in our water, and spray in our skies, which is nearly impossible to do.
Only if in a social situation where the choices are all bad and I really need something to eat. Before I retired I participated yearly in a fundraiser each year that included a telethon. It is a huge undertaking and goes for 36 hours. We have to have food for all of the volunteers. In years past you could expect donated hamburgers from one or more or the regular suspect fast food burger joints. When I got involved we got Taco Bell, Subway, and Chick-Fil-let. I was surprised how much the volunteers appreciated the non-burger food.
