Is God transgender?

Interesting editorial from a rabbi who says "yes," is here: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/13/opinion/is-god-transgender.html Before you answer, give it a read.

The author cites passages in the bible where the pronoun used to describe people changes and a revised look at what "YHWH" means.

God is a Trinity: 3 persons in one.
    1. Father
    2. Son
    3. Spirit

The Spirit is usually considered a female gender. The Spirit is named Wisdom. Wisdom in Greek is "Sophia". That's a female name.
So it depends which person you are talking about.

However, John 4:24 says, "God is spirit and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth."

I don't think that "transgender" is the proper term.  I'm not really sure I can even explain what it is that I think about this, but I'll give it a shot.

I think that God embodies all the traits that we assign to define gender.  Not that God is one or the other, or even both, but that we each are a reflection of our our creator in part, but none of us reflects a complete image.  JMHO

I don't believe "God" has a gender anymore the bridges or keys or trees have a gender.

The fact the Abrahamic God is perceived as Great Sky Father strikes me as an artifact of the patriarchal/authoritarian culture in which those religions arose, not any inherent characteristic of God.

No.  God may not have gender but God is not transgender.   I read the article.  It sounded interesting.

I am certainly not any kind of Hebrew scholar but I do not see the he/she as the same YHWH in the Hebrew writing.  I can compare symbols. It does not look the same to me.  The "she" symbol has a dot below for both example.  The YHWH symbol doe not have a dot below at all.

God is the only. We use masculine pronouns because of the limitations of our language.

Is this world bonkers or what? Children argue about whether a kitten is a boy or a girl. Grownups argue about whether God is a boy or a girl.It is obvious that gender is the most important fact of life, after being sure the building is not on fire. And then a bunch of dingbats try to tell us that gender is a matter of personal decision, and gender roles are optional.
