Your most hoped-for dream or most horrific nightmare? A Supreme Court consisting of NINE extreme right-wing white supremacists? Impossible?

Don't put me on. If your side had gotten the decisions this week You'd be singing the praises of the Supremes and wrapping yourself in the Constitution. No doubt about it. We DO desire nine conservative justices, but white supremacists we can do without altogether. They have nothing to do with justice as I understand it. To answer the question, such a scenario is virtually impossible. It was, I believe, the Congressional Democrats of long ago that invented the "litmus test" for prospective judicial nominees. This was used rather extensively to prevent capable jurists from being confirmed by demanding decisions to every form of hypothetical case imaginable.
