Everything comes with a price, and the price of conscience is privacy. When we surrendered our lives to technological convenience, we surrendered our privacy as well. Strangely enough, many people don't really seem to care about privacy. Oh, they may gripe a bit when someone steals their identity or money, yet they still post personal info everywhere. I can't count the number of people who post their exact whereabouts, what they're doing, and where and when they're going on vacation (“and in case you forgot, the combination to our safe is 34-5-43-2”).
I personally don’t mind if someone knows what I watch on TV. I’m not watching anything I’d be ashamed of if others knew. I don’t care if someone knows that I flip channels during ALL commercials. In fact, I hope they DO notice that I refuse to watch certain programs and perhaps stop making them (such as anything to do with Kardashians).
My phone calls consist of listening to elevator music for over 45 minutes as I’m on hold waiting to argue with a “representative” who can’t speak English. Why eavesdrop on me when they can simply call a medical insurance company and enjoy the fun for themselves (“Your call is important to us. Pease stay on the line until our only representative finishes playing Candy Crush on their phone. Your estimates wait time is – until hell freezes over”).
