Ya during the North American auto crises in the 70's or 80's I lost my job at an auto plant in Windsor and we eventually lost our home. It turned out to be a good thing because I didn't turn out to be a factory robot - now I work in gardens and it's so much more enjoyable. Cheers and happy weekend!

So you made lemonade and lemon meringue pie out of the lemons you were dealt? Good for you Nanoose. You "work in gardens"? The kind where food is grown or the kind where you grow flowers? Sorry that you had such a scary time but very glad it turned well for you. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday. How will the King don tariffs affect our auto industry? I know you're a Canadian m'dear but you are very current on everything everywhere. Think it will be a very negative impact? :)
I work in residential flower gardens in a golfing community. I think the tariffs will put millions of people in Canada and America in the poor house and some of them will never bounce back. Cheers and happy weekend!
Do you play golf m'dear? Our little retirement community has a 9-hole golf course on the premises. Each hole is Par 3 so it isn't championship worthy by any means but the guys have fun. Jim and his friend met there at 7:15 am this morning. It's gonna be 107 and right now it is 87 so I don't know how long they will last. Anyway we watch a lot of golf tournaments and some of the golf courses are drop dead gorgeous! I think your heart must be so happy working among beautiful living things and ensuring that they are well cared for. I remember when my son was attending UCLA he lived in Santa Monica and we'd go visit him a few times a month to meet for breakfast. He was within walking distance of the beach on a bluff above and you had to walk through a lovely rose garden to get to the pathway to walk to the pier or to the steps that lead down to the ocean. It was really nifty. Are your flowers fragrant? So many flowers seem to have lost their fragrance over the years. I'm gonna ask why? Either that or my sniffer isn't working as well as it used to. Thanks for sharing. Now I can visualize you taking such good care of the flowers! :)
I don't golf but I think it's a good game because people have fun and it's one of the few sports that if you don't do well you have no one to blame but yourself. It is nice to work in such a nice area working among beautiful living things but when my work day is done I go home to a run down trailer park but there is still a lot of beautiful living thing there too. Anyway I included a link to the Fairwinds golf coarse. Cheers and happy weekend!
You know what sweetie? Jim and I rent a very modest two-bedroom home in Hemet. Honestly it is the least attractive home on the block. We do our best to make it look good. That's thanks to Jim who cuts back the roses and pulls out the weeds. When we win the LOTTO we're gonna get a condo at the beach! One day maybe? But why am I telling you this? Because it doesn't matter what your home looks like. What matters is whom you are and what you are and if you are a good human being. You certainly are one of the best and nicest folks I have ever met on an internet social site and that includes all the years I was on Answerbag. I look forward to your replies because they are informative/clever/cheerful and worth my time. Every single one of them. You appreciate what you have. So do we. You see beauty in your surroundings. So do we. I think we are blessed don't you?. There are so many people it seems who have way more than they will ever need and spend their days plotting how they can get more. Sad ain't it? Thank you for your reply Nanoose! :)
