Assuming you had a choice which would it be? Being poisoned/attacked with lethal nerve agent, being shot to death?
Or would you prefer to disappear? And live out the rest of your life in some dungeon somewhere being giving bread and water until you die? A quick certain death or one that causes you to linger on and linger on and linger on?
