If you were a Time Traveler and saw a very cruel miserable immutable future would you tell folks or say nothing? WHY?

If it were immutable there would be nothing they could do to change it. Why tell them anything about what was ahead? Why not let them enjoy whatever time they had left to wish and dream and hope and fantasize? Which would be kinder/crueler?
