Why is there such a frantic desperate urgent need for some to need to believe they are BETTER THAN others based on color,religion,politics?

If it is within the DNA to believe/feel/think that way why aren't ALL HUMAN BEINGS so disposed? What makes some so needy to believe they are SUPERIOR and others are INFERIOR while some never think so at all because they don't believe it for a minutel?  They have to be taught to hate. They have to be  taught to believe/think/feel they are BETTER THAN while others are LESS THAN. It is not a useful or truthful lesson yet it keeps being taught. WHY?

    When we don't have anything going for us we clutch at straws to make us feel better about ourselves.  Anything - our race, our "soul", religion, understandings, are fair game for that.  Trying to make us feel better about ourselves.  Same with obsessing about someone and daily excoriating them on the net! We make ourselves feel better at the expense of others.
