Do you hold onto or set free the things that come to thee? Are you a sharer, a middle-of-the-roader or a hoarder?

I tend to keep things.. a semi-hoarder with delusions of minimalism :P I love the bare minimal look but have way too many things... I think for me it's about not wanting to waste things and not wanting to have it go to landfill... My mother was someone who bought many many many things but she almost always gave the things she bought away... I have loads of the things she gave me..

My mom loved to shop. Mostly for clothes. She bought to have, not necessarily to use. When she died my sis gave me quite a few sweaters and jackets and coats of hers that still had the price tags on them! I love to share. I also am very sentimental and can't bear to throw things away that were given to me by loved ones. When my son graduated from Berkeley in 1987 he gave me a sweatshirt. I still wear it in the house. I have a swan candy dish he bought for me when he was five supervised by a friend of mine who took him to a "parent's present store". It broke in half years ago but it was a clean break so Jim glued it back together and I still use it. I never wear jewelry in the house so I take off the two rings I wear out. One from Jim and the other one from my son. Also I have a gold chain I wear out on which I have a unicorn charm my son gave me when I turned 45! I also have a sparkly heart charm Jim gave me as well as a small charm my sister gave me long ago. A pearl! Thank you for your reply Addb! :)

Ahh so we are alike in that then :) I wear a malachite necklace my son gave me.. I am sad that a ring he got me years ago broke while I was away on a short vacation just over a week or so ago.. I found today a hideous pottery vase.. my older son made it when he was little :) I am not really one for shopping.. so really I tend to keep things that are given to me

((hugs)) My favorite vase is a coke bottle covered in  sparkly paper that is stuck to it. My son made it in grammar school as a Mother's Day gift that the kids worked on in class. I love it. It is so simple and beautiful in its simplicity. Plus I have a cat picture he did that is of white small rocks i n the shape of a cat surrounded by black small rocks all stuck to a canvas. It is clearly made by a child but I just love it! I love cats of course so I display it because it pleases me a bunch. I also have a unicorn that he typed on a sheet of paper. He got a book out of the library titled "Typewriter Art" and made  a unicorn. Love it. It's in the bedoorm. The cat is in the living room. I couldn't buy anything better frankly. I'm a simple gal with simple tastes. And very sentimental. Not everyone's cuppa tea but it suits me! Thank you for your reply Addb! :)
