Queues outside Ladies' washrooms are usually much longer than those outside Gents' rooms. Shouldn't public places like theatres and malls have more rooms for ladies than for gents?

  • Dress mode in non-Western countries makes it very difficult for women to pee standing. I agree with you about talking (on the cellphone, usually) while sitting comfortably, quite oblivious of the urgency of others outside.

  • According to the article, the International Building code stipulates a 2:1 ratio in favour of Ladies washrooms. Future buildings must be made to comply.

  • Women in India have inhibitions in this respect. I, for one, would be extremely hesitant about doing this.

    Nahhh..   The reason ladies wait longer is cause they primp.  Men don't primp.   If they want shorter lines, remove the mirrors.
