General store with pickle barrel/cracker barrel, local diner, coffee shop. Do you have a hangout where locals meet 'n greet 'n chat? Where?

I don't have time to 'hang out', but my retired conservative brother-in-law has friends at the local 'Tim Hortons'  coffee and doughnuts shop. He meets with the city mayor and various cronies including a former state attorney. (Democrat)  There is also a millionaire automotive retailer who has a really nice home that overlooks the town. I went to school with that guy. So I gotta ask myself; "where's MY million dollars?
