Why do others try to put words in your mouth that you never said and read into what you write things that are never there?

Are they so intent on making a cross-purpose point they don't take the time or the care to read what's there and just extrapolate and assume and come to the wrong conclusions? I don't get it.

Different people have different understandings.  As well as different interpretations of the same thing.  I have been accused of saying things and doing things I nether said nor did.

History with the person can lead another to read the statement more or less than what was said.
Just because we may not like or agree with an answer does not mean they put words in our mouth or read more into than what was there. If we ask a question we should expect people to have a different opinion on the meanings of a word or phrase.  This post was edited by my2cents at September 16, 2018 7:42 AM MDT
