Is your marriage a battlefield? Are you engaged in skirmishes constantly and always jockeying for position of top banana? Who rules?

Have you ever considered getting a divorce? Ever had a battle so bad that one of you left to go elsewhere? Or is your marriage generally a peaceful place to be with both partners co-equals who like each first and foremost all the time and will forever love each other for the long run even when you disagree? Do you look forward to being at home alone or do you like it better when you're spouse is there with you even if you are doing different things in different rooms? Do you light up when you see your spouse? Do you still get a "tingle" when you see him/her even after all the years you've been together? Is he/she still the only one you want to grow old with? Do you hold hands when you go out and about?  I hope your marriage isn't a war zone. No one deserves to live that kind of life.

Peaceful.  Yes we get along and enjoy each other's company.  Yes I look forward to time together because he is so work-oriented often I don't get enough time together with him.  Well we have only been married seven years but yes I feel a tingle when I know his intentions are intimate. We sometimes hold hands but even in public it is more of a private thing.

Only time anything like what you say happened was in 2014 when the husband of a younger woman Gerry was seeing threw her out of her home and we let her stay with us. Eventually it got so she was trying to throw her weight around about how things got done in our house so I made him ask her to leave. Which he thought was unfair so he left with her and they stayed in a motel for a couple of months. During which I continued to make his meals which he would take to work or come home to eat.  So he was never really totally gone. Eventually she left him for a younger man after which her husband came and just brought her home.  So he came home completely and very contrite.

Haha we have no choice but to grow old together (which btw we are not that far from doing!). Barring any unforeseen tragedies we are stuck with each other which we are happy enough with.
