Does the property that now belongs to the US Government that Manafort had to turn over get auctioned off to the highest bidder?

What happens to the money paid for the property and also to the money in the bank accounts he turned over as well? Is there a line-item budget that reads "windfall from crooks"?

I believe that if the government seizes assets from a criminal, they auction the stuff off and use the money to repay any court decisions (fees, restitutions, etc.).  Any leftover money goes into a fund that's used for law enforcing (e.g.  seized drug money goes to fight drug crimes).

That may be how things used to be but with super don in control I bet a lot of that money will find its way into HIS PERSONAL bank accounts. Or his "kids". Who will perform the oversight and audit it? Congress  where the majority are owned by super don? Surely you jest! SIGH. Thank you for your reply Shuhak!  :)
