Folks apparently aren't worthy of respect as they are. Only if they work for it and "deserve" it do they get it. It used to be different of course. Wasn't everything? We were taught to respect our elders and people with authority like the police and teachers. They didn't have to EARN anything. We automatically gave it for free. The world is much greedier now and less inclined to give anything to anyone for any reason other than sucking up to gain something they want. SIGH.
