When you describe/characterize something or someone as being "different" is there an implied "better than/worse than" the norm/typical?

    Not for me.  Especially when like man/woman they are complementary opposites and one does not exist without the other.  Also would depemd on ones value system - just what we value most ourselves is what we will say is "better".
