The First Lady of President Rutherford B. Hayes was nicknamed 'Lemonade Lucy' because she refused to serve alcoholic beverages in the White House. President Hayes introduced 'free public schools'  to all children in America regardless of color.

I would hope that the judge would be a light drinker. Maybe he could endorse that beer featured by 'the most interesting man in the world'.  I am not a drinker and I am not the best person to 'judge the Judge'.  Regardless, there is booze much stronger than beer being consumed by both sides of the aisle !  (and in the judges' chambers)

Are you talking "on the job" drinking m'dear?  Another respondent brought up the saying "sober as a Judge". Remember that? It used to be a foregone conclusion that those who were selected to "judge" had to be serious and you can't be serious when drunk can you? I'm gonna ask. I used to work folks during my working life who had bottles of booze in a desk drawer. There was one guy who reeked of the stink but I never actually saw him take a drink. I guess he snuck it. But you know I never though of them being drunk on the job which I guess they can be if booze is around during office hours. Oh boy. Isn't that  wunnderful? Thank you for your reply and I'm gonna ask about it! L(

My father used to carry a whiskey flask thing in his golf bag. No matter, his son always beat him at golf.

Wouldn't alcohol exacerbate his ability to play well? I wonder how many golfers are boozed up when they play? I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply  bh and Happy Sunday! :)
