It is scary that a girl or woman can make an accusation and must be believed even with zero information to back it up. What if some woman accused your son of such a thing after 30+yrs threatening to destroy all he had worked for in his career?
It's a question of character. Kav has ranted that he never drank to excess as an under-age college student, despite sworn testimony from several contemporaries that they witnessed him completely off his face. I wouldn't condemn him for underage drinking, just for lying about it (I had my first hangover at fifteen, but I've never denied that I enjoy getting a skinful now and again). I'm sure I've done things when drunk that I'd never contemplate while sober - but if I drew a blank on events, I'd admit at least that they could have happened.
What Kav should have done was state truthfully that he did not remember doing such things but in a drunken state he might have. Then apologize sincerely for his stupidity as a teen and young adult. All of us did stupid things when we were younger. But he didn't so he is not credible. It would have been long behind him and he would have been confirmed and taken his seat as a Justice. But he did the predictable thing liars always do. Never admit and of course that carries a lot of baggage with it. His keeps growing. Thank you for your reply Sbf and Happy Wednesday! :)
No, he stated specially that sometime he did drink too much. But not to the point he did not know what he did while drunk. He was not drinking underage, either. I can say the same thing myself.
