That is what is called "coming from scarcity" - that there is only so much to go around so if we are able to get some of it then it must mean that others have to go without. Which is why so many women resent other women who do well because they see it like there is only room for a limited number of us so if one of us is successful they view it as we are taking it from them. But I look at it this way - if we are in business then if we do well we will gain more customers who will spend their money with us therefore we earn are keep. Now you can say OK but that means they are not spending their money elsewhere and so the elsewhere people are losing out. But what is the alternative but some kind of a giant fixed system where individual dreams and individual achievements mean nothing at all.
I believe it is natural to earn our living by the "sweat of our brow" but some people will always be more successful in that way than others and some will not be at all. The Bible teaches us that as believers we are to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
