It is up to people to control themselves and if they are unable to then likely they are unable to handle some social situations.  Like marriage and intimate relationships .Anyone strikes me in anger he had better have a very good reason to because if he does it twice I would be gone. Not that I am unsympathetic to someone's problems but just I have too much respect for myself to allow anyone to regularly and systematically beat up on me.

I lost control of me ONCE. I was 14 and I remember telling my mom something and she accused me of lying. I did not lie. I told her the truth. A fury welled up inside me and I stormed out of the kitchen into the utility room and out that door. Now the door had a window on top and wood at the bottom.  I smashed my right hand right through the glass and it shattered! Miraculously I did not get cut! I don't know why but I didn't. However what did happen was that I scared myself. I was terrified of me and I thought that I could never allow myself to get that angry again and I never did. I still remember that day and that moment. Have you ever scared yourself? It is a most unsettling emotion. Thank you for your reply og! :) This post was edited by RosieG at October 6, 2018 8:30 AM MDT
