People are too different to make blind assumptions. As such, it pays not to.

I suggest that conscious observation should play an immediate role in how we rate other people, before we make presumptions about them or their intelligence. People can surprise —or disappoint— absent obvious clues.

I ALWAYS ASSUME people are at least as smart as I am and probably a lot smarter. I am drawn to those who are very intelligent. I always have been and I always shall be. I think of myself as average with my one strong suit being very  CURIOUS about many things which is why I never run out of questions. I never assume I'm smarter than anyone. That is insulting to them and arrogant of me. So I don't do it. That's just me DB. I love it when really smart folks answer my questions because they're the ones from whom I learn the most. I appreciate it so much when they give/invest time in answering my questions seriously. I feed off it and really really really enjoy it bigly. Thank you for your reply! :)

Since most people I know I think of in fact as my intellectual superiors that is never a problem.  But I think it is best to make ourselves understood to whomever we are talking.

I always think others are at least as smart as I am and probably smarter. I think of myself as average with one major caveat. I am endlessly curious about everything and so I know I will never run out of questions to ask. I love it when really smart folks take the time to answer my questions seriously. I am honored by it and appreciate it. Thank you for your thoughtful reply og and Happy Saturday to thee! :) ((hugs))
