I very much ADMIRE those of you who are able to "keep your cool" during discussions that could drive others bonkers. How do you do it?

Where does your endless well of PATIENCE come from? No matter the blather or gibberish you encounter you stick to the facts and keep trying to get others to simply comprehend and consider. When they don't you keep trying in different ways to reach them. Sheesh! It's an amazing feat and I congratulate all of you for having "the right stuff". I guess you were born with it, right? I mean you can't buy it at a store can you? I just thought of another quesiton. SIGH.

I'm not sure if I am one who has that ability.  What I am sure of is giving people a chance to voice their opinion and not place judgement on it.  If I can participate in the angle they are looking at or help them to create another,  I do so.
Everyone has a right.  Thank you for thanking others.  :) :)
Being aware and kind is a natural way to be and contagious to those who may have forgotten.

Thank you for your reply Merlin and Happy Tuesday to you. Did you happen to watch the confirmation hearing of brett kavanaugh or do you avoid such things? This post was edited by RosieG at October 9, 2018 4:13 AM MDT

I'll be serious now.  No.  I didn't.  I do need to keep up-to-date on my own.  I am a responsible and respectable person who does know the political outcome of our countries have a huge impact and I DO pay attention.

My thoughts and the repercussions of sharing them are too much for me to gamble. I am afraid you would not respect me.  This is why I don't.
I do respect yours and on many issues, I see your point. :) :)

Im glad Kavanaugh is our new Supreme Court Judge. It would have been awful to think he could have gotten convicted of a mistimeter that happened over three decades ago with no evidence, or collaboration to testimony, that was sketchy and vague to say the least. From the get go, this loony event stranded on the grounds of Guilty until Proven Innocent. If that were allowed to play through, we would be looking at a whole new screwed up kind of justice in our country. Again, Im glad, no ecstatic, that he was exonerated.

I think it’s a matter of keeping perspective. It’s a discussion, that’s all. Either you agree or you don’t. Either you are understood or you aren’t. Life goes on.
Would that it be the worst problem you have all day.

It's just a matter of respecting opinions and people's rights to hold them, and not equating an opinion with the whole person.
