watches..........been collecting them since 1970, and now I'm 74.....would not even want to IMAGINE how much I've spent......now mind you, I"m not talking really expensive ones, just in the $30 to $80 price range......now I have way too many...and watch batteries are $10!!!!....why, I have no idea......So I get batteries every so often; but even then, there are many I"ve not worn for I have no idea how long!!

But it's a hobby, right? and there's no such thing as an inexpensive hobby; least not that I ever heard about!!!

Years ago a friend of mine's mom collected Hummel figurines......she had dozens of them, some old and valuable......I said; no such thing as an inexpensive hobby, right?" and she came back with the BEST reply......'well, I don't drink or smoke, so this is my smoking & drinking'..!!!!!!

well I don't smoke or drink either, so I use that as my standard reply........it's a good one, too.

Would rather have watches than have blown smoke in the air or pissed away liquor, right?????

LOL.......not to mention the health consequences!!!

    :-D

  • Buying a large screen tv set. I bought it against my father's advice, and I regret that decision.

    Verily, size doesn't matter, LOL!

  • Yes, and as always, he shrugged his shoulders: his silent "I told you, didn't I?"
