We all do things differently. We do what makes sense to us. Some folks always try to get people to do things the way THEY DO. WHY?

It's annoying as he**. Some folks put peanut butter on a slice of bread and jam on top of the peanut butter and then top it with another slice of bread. VOILA! PBJ sandwich! Others SWEAR BY putting jam on one slice of bread, peanut butter on the other slice and then slapping the two together. The goal is the same. It's how you get there that differs. So what's the big deal about METHOD? Which method is better? Why do you think so? Or how you put a roll of toilet paper on the toilet paper roll. Over or under? Why does it matter? Does over or under pull more easily? Is over or under more visually pleasing?

    I don't know. I think simply in order to be comfortable and have more people to play with.  We look to others for agreement.

    It is interesting to see the original patent drawings (copies) that accompany such mundane objects as toilet paper and paper towel dispensers showing what the inventor intended as to the positioning of the paper roll.

    I saw those original drawings and it makes me wonder why he chose that particular way.  For me, I prefer under because the proximity of the roll of paper to the commode itself is narrow and it's easier to find the end when it's hanging - especially in the middle of the night.

    True, but for some reason, the end hangs longer when it's under - easier to feel.

    Yes, but the way the paper is perforated, it automatically hangs longer when it's under.
