In theory, one could build a pipe bomb of any size, but a very large one would be very cumbersome to deliver a place without drawing suspicion. The amount of explosive material would have to be tremendous to take out an entire building, even using the C-4 family of explosives. Very impractical.

That would be counter-productive since the pipe parts are part of the weaponry.
That would be a pipe-bomb that would be noticed and expensive. I think the exact reason for a pipe bomb in the first place is that it is a cheap weapon.
Plastic explosives are easily hidden and much better for that kind of job.

Now of course when dippidy doo is done everyone will side with Russia who is a trumpican. Those who aren't will flee. So far the FBI still has some spine and works independent of the dipstick. How long that will last I don't know. So far so good which infuriates the dipstick.

Nowadays, it makes no sense, but when I saved it, it had a different meaning. Until Mueller proved his mettle and Comey was fired, we really didn't know too much about what the FBI was up to and no one trusted them. UNTIL... Trump, in his insane manner, fires Comey.
I believe that pic was saved by me when we all as a nation did not know who's side the FBI was actually ON. Back when they were investigating Hillary when there was obviously no need.... those times. I realize, Rosie, that the FBI is supposed to be non-partisan, but back when Trump inserted himself into the election process around 2014ish, all his plans to control and own the nation were being put into play by those who would benefit by his being a pawn in power that they could rule. We know all that. But one of the glaringly obvious plays they made, was to nominate Republicans to oversee the FBI investigation into Russia, thinking that Mueller would be a pawn in the game.
So, back then, before we saw what Mueller was actually MADE of, and Rosenstein keeping the process as fair as possible.... we thought the FBI were going to be exactly like Sessions and Flynn and Kelley and the rest of that slime. I think it was a great VERY GREAT thing, that Mueller and Rosenstein actually were Republicans because no one can accuse them of being partisan. Of course, they will lie and try. Trump has tried it and of course his LOCK HER UP base is believing it all. UGH.

A small amount of Semtex would take out a quite large family home ,more so if it was placed in the center of the ground floor or better still basement if it had one....again the explosion would be greater if all the doors and windows were closed plus the type of pipe the explosive was packed into.....the thicker the walls of the pipe the more it concentrates the blast....:(

I believe Semrex was invented by a Czechoslovakian guy called Stanislva Brebera in the late 1950....it's odourless and very powerful and was used I believe in some of the London bombings before I was born .. It harmless like putty I believe and quite stable and dropping it won't make it explode... If you were at home when it went off,there would only be bits and peices left of you...
Every one has explosive material in their homes which you most likely use each and ever day in one form or another....it's just far more difficult to get it to go BANG though...There are more then one as well and most can be easily brought in shops.......:(

We used to be able to buy cold packs that used ammonium nitrate. Make a slurry with some diesel fuel and get a detonator. It is what Tim McVeigh used in OK City to destroy the Murrah building.
Fertilizer like phosphorus and another common house hold thing that I'm sure you have at home is enough to make a huge bang...there are other things as well that are far more lethal... Even Nitro Glicerene is not that hard to make .......far far more unstable and more so if it gets to warm....:(
