My first rapist's trial and hearings were in January.  In the spring I had my first same-sex affair, in the fall I moved to the Philippines with my boyfriend. This post was edited by officegirl at October 30, 2018 8:50 AM MDT

  • Wow, I am sorry.   I can't imagine how difficult that had to have been for you.

  • I bought a Suzuki dirt bike.  Man, what a POS it turned out to be!

Yeah...I heard that most Suzukis end up in bushel baskets.

It was my 11th birthday! :)  11 is one of my favorite numbers.
    I'm sure it was a good year.  :) :)

  • I turned 15 on September 21, 1978.    That was a fun year for me in that my teenage rebellion was in full swig.  I had two great boyfriends that year - not simultaneously, and I met my third one that same year at a Pat Travers concert.   I just remember it as being a year of 'freedom'.  Now, two years later I would begin to understand the consequences of my "freedom", but I don't want to get ahead of myself here. As I was reading your answer, lavender, I thought you were going to say, "and Pat Travers was my third boyfriend."  :D! :D!

  • Haha, Merlin, you were SO close.  His guitarist at the time, Pat Thrall, was actually my third boyfriend. Kidding, but I wished it at the time. :p This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at October 30, 2018 11:18 AM MDT

Absolutely!   You have good taste. :) :)  My "dream boyfriend" at 15 was still Neil Diamond.  I liked John Taylor, (was that his name?  Shoot!  I can't even remember now..) the bass player from Duran Duran as well as Neil.  Either would do.  Big smiles!! :) :) This post was edited by Merlin at October 30, 2018 11:18 AM MDT

  • I LOVED John Taylor!  I loved his smile, his hair...I had such a crush on him, good choice there, Merlin!

You sure you don't mean James Taylor? He's still going - he just sang the national anthem for one of the World Series games at Fenway Pahk.

  • John Taylor was in Duran Duran.    James Taylor is Carly Simon's ex-husband. I love his voice, but I never had a crush on him.

So it was a different person. But I'm sure you know that James Taylor was famous for a lot more than being Carly's ex! LOL.

  • Haha yes. I do know music very well.  I am weird with music trivia.

I almost put James Taylor because I love his music.  I STILL Do.  :) :)  I have almost all his albums.  He's not so much "a looker."  He is just a great song writer and musician/singer.  I was never a big Duran Duran fan back then or now.  I can't believe they are even still around.  They seemed to have passed the test of time to a certain degree. Weirdly amazing to me.  I just thought John Taylor was cute! This post was edited by Merlin at October 30, 2018 11:20 AM MDT

How could anyone have great, full-blown relationships at 15? That's part of the "puppy love" stage of life.

  • Oh, those melodramatic teens though.  It seems so "real" as they are going through it, but once they are able to look back, they realize how silly it really was.

Not too significant for me. All I did was graduate high school on June 23, go away to college on August 27, and turn 18 in between! For some reason, I also clearly remember seeing Animal House and Grease that summer.
