Rocks can severely harm someone if they are hit with one large enough in the right spot. However, I don't believe there is any case in which I could justify a soldier shooting and killing a rock thrower. There are enough other ways to disarm the rock thrower without shooting him. For Trump to say that throwing a rock is tantamount to using a rifle shows the depth of his stupidity.

Whip as in spank or draw blood? Whip on the naked back to leave scars, in the face where it will always show or on the body parts protected by clothing?

I'm not deaf. You don't need to shout at me. So black and blue then and bloody here and there enough to leave scars that will require plastic surgery? Or smash in a face so it will require a facial transplant? There are degrees of "battered". Dead is dead no matter the method. Everything else has degrees attached to it. To maim one limb or 4? To cripple so the person needs to walk with crutches, cane or paralyze him/her requiring a lifetime in a wheelchair? To what degree do you go to inflict punishment? Inquiring minds wanna know. I got a question for you, too. Who the hell are/would you be to tell me how to feel/react if I got hit by a rock? You do what you'd do, I'll stick by my decisions.
A rock and a gun aren't even similar alphabetically An assault rifle can fire 10 rounds a second even a octopus couldn't fire off that many rocks that fast. A riot shield can stop a rock but a t-shirt can't stop a bullet. The US troops on the border will probably = the number of migrants so even if the migrants throw rocks there are better ways to stop them then with bullets. I have been in rumbles and I have been hit in the head with rocks and lumber luckily back then we had the you don't bring a gun to a rock fight rule. - guess Trump never heard that rule Cheers!
