Are first-generation AMERICANS better citizens than those who have been here for hundreds of years? I'm one and I ALWAYS VOTE. Do you?

Being too lazy to vote has never been an option for me. I would be disrespecting my parents and grandpaterts who fled to this country from certain death for a better life. I would dishonor them by not voting. If you are a citizen who doesn't vote what's your excuse? Whatever it is it ain't good enough. If you are houseband VOTE BY MAIL. Most states have that option.

What is this for?  A pat on the back?

There are tons of reasons not to vote.

One is in protest.  Like the fact that all of this nonsense will lead to one thing.  Republicans can again win.

That can happen regardless of who votes and who does not.  We can be hacked.  We can be discounted.

I just got a notice in the mail saying I NEVER VOTED IN THE LAST 2 ELECTIONS.

    I vote every time.

What good is it if all the states are gerrymandered? In favor of the GOP.  We WON last time. Remember?

    We are the popular vote.

The freaking whole state can turn out and they can still win.

So, why are you bragging about being a pawn?  In their game?

Yes, I'm going to attempt to vote.  But it seems to matter less and less.

Voting is but one aspect of citizenship, and no, it is not determinate of who is or is not the better citizen, despite your puerile notion to the contrary.

I‘m a third generation American who served and fought in harm’s way in the uniform of my country, Rosie.
    You didn’t.

    So what’s your excuse?
Whatever it is, it isn’t good enough.

Sucks being held to someone else’s standards, doesn’t it? Suggest you might stop imposing yours.

It must be  —more than I realized—  since you actually seem to understand it, ...this time. This post was edited by Don Barzini at November 7, 2018 7:59 AM MST
