My nieces and nephews used to call me Uncle Scrooge.

For Christmas, I always bought everyone expensive gifts (up until I lost my job a few years back), but that was it.  I rarely spend any money on myself.  I'm a simple man.  I don't need or want "things".  Since There's no one else in my life to spend money on, i'm content being Uncle Scrooge. (not that I have any money anymore anyhow)

I can relate. I'm a simple gal. Low maintenance. Plain Wrap. I don't need to receive fancy expens ive things to feel loved. I think the best gifts are the gifts of self. Being there when needed. Anticipating and providing help or assistance or advice or a shoulder or a hug. Anyone can go out and buy gifst. All it takes is money or credit cards. Anyone can do it. But only YOU can be present in someone's life who loves you whom you love. Money and fany gifts will never replace that.  Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)
