What other president(s) had two FORMER WIVES besides the john of don? He couldn't keep his women happy. Wonder whyz?

    Ronald Reagan was the only President who had a divorce, prior to being elected.

    James Buchanan and Grover Cleveland were elected as bachelors.
    There is speculation that JB never married because he was a homosexual.  Which would make him our first "Gay" President.

    Thomas Jefferson and Martin Van Buren were widowers, when they were elected.

    Andrew Jackson was married when elected in 1828 ... but widowed by the time of his inauguration in 1829.

    Chester Arthur, was a widower in 1880 when he was elected as the Vice President and remained unmarried when he inherited the position of President upon the 1881 death of President James Garfield.

    Three Presidents who were elected as married men, became widowers during their presidencies: John Tyler in 1841, Benjamin Harrison in 1892, and Woodrow Wilson in 1914.

    Ron was married to actress Jane Wyman who said she divorced him because he was boring. They had one daughter Maureen who was an actress. I think Ron outlived her though I am not sure . I don't think he was the sharpest knife in the drawer but he surely did know how to reach people and I believe he meant what he said. He didn't seem to be calculating or manipulative though of course I have no way of knowing that for sure. I did so admire the love he and Nancy had for each other. A rarity I think in Hollywood. Thank you for the  reply that I would expect from an Educator Walt. A professor/teacher/knowledge imparter.  If you aren't one by profession you shouldda been! :)

    None of these Presidents actually married their paramours, but surely mistresses count as a point towards marital unhappiness?

    They should but they don't. I mean in Europe don't all married men have mistresses? It seems to be an accepted way of life . The wife has the respect and the mistress provides the sex for which she is provided a comfy life. Of course you have to be rich to pull it off. So much of life is a sham Sbf. For show.  To placate or pretend to adhere to the "rules". But it's bullsh**! How many anti-LGBTQ pols are gay? How many"family" men who preached the sanctity of family have or have had pregnant paramours on the side? We will never know. They're bums and boors and liars and get away with whatever they can as they point fingers at the rest of us and chastise us and play the holier-than-thou game. Some swallow that crap. Sheesh! It takes all kinds doesn't it? SIGH. Thank you for your reply! :)
