John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. The daddy of 'em all, the Dickens of the fantasy genre. He is to literature what the Beatles are to music.

D'ya know who introduced me to Tolkien Sbf? A vice-president of a company where I worked. We'd chat from time to time about different things and one day he showed up at my desk and handed me a book.  Guess which book? At different work functions we hit it off and his wife was a jewel  whom I really liked a lot so I guess they wanted me to visit that fantasy world. We kept in touch after I left the company and one day he and his wife were visiting in Ogunquit, Maine having traveled there from California for a visit and we drove up to spend some time with them. We had moved to Massachusetts and were living in east Acton at that time. Sad thing is I do not remember his name.It was about 50 years ago!  I can picture him but his name is gone or buried deep inside my head! So you like fantasy worlds and languages then? Excellent choice. Like a beautiful tapestry of infinite beauty which never loses its appeal. I think J.K Rowling did it with Harry Potter too. Thank you for your reply Sbf! :)
