GM is simply adjusting to and gearing up for the future. Why would any SMART business person pretend the past will always be the present?

The horse-and-buggy days DISAPPEARED when the car appeared. How many carriage-making businesses still carriage make? For whom? Where are the buyers for them? Why would an old and soon-to-be OBSOLETE method of making cars be continued when the future is already here and electric cars are proliferating? Head-in-sand ostrichs are not good businessmen. Wanting to  please a prez who lives with head in sand 24/7 makes no sense.

    Horse and buggies still used by the Amish. 

    They should refit the factory to build something that sells. 
    The Volt was supposed to be the new way to the future, not a horse and buggy.
