Why do you think Trump gets so much of his support from Southern and Midwest white people?

I keep seeing Trump stickers on the back pick-up trucks. Driven by bearded white men with Monster t-shirts, and Mt Dew baseball caps. Or, maybe it's just me?

I have been saying that for months. Inbred, trailer trash rednecks with IQs of chimpanzees. (sorry chimps...didn't mean to insult you.)

  • An article I read recently was white under educated men were his biggest fan base and put it down to them feeling disenfranchised by the system ... Immigrants taking jobs, white people not on top anymore, women won't obey them anymore

There are some interesting theories about the odd marriage between traditional Republicans (wealthy white people who, as Trump admits to, do anything and everything they can to keep from paying taxes on their vast fortunes) and the disenfranchised low and lower middle class white people who work hard and can barely afford to feed and shelter their families. In order to deflect responsibility for the astounding and disgusting wage and wealth gap from themselves, these unscrupulous (though smart) politicians appeal to the historical racial prejudices and alleged "conservative values" of people in the "Bible Belt" and  blame immigrants and minorities instead of accepting responsibility for creating the economic situation. Sadly, these less than savvy individuals fall for their deflection and diversion tactics - enter Donald Trump. If he is elected, he will most definitely create a financial environment that is even more beneficial for himself and his fellow million/billionaires and the wealth gap will widen even further. I'm not convinced that Hillary will do much better, considering she's one of them, but at least she doesn't mock people with disabilities, call women pigs and talk about wishing she could date her own child!

Deflect and divert...that's the gist of it.

You obviously don't know me. Thanks for the compliments O follower of the Trump. Insults don't bother me.

    (than) comma not necessary

Ellipses after corruption not necessary.  Good spelling skills though.

Maybe it's just you..... Last time I checked his support was pretty much across the board ( based on Primary voting). The poorly educated are not confined to the South !... Here's Vern Schlongwanker, Trump delegate from El Cajon, Californian !

Yep the Duck Dynasty moron brigade burns brightly in the South especially.  But that is inaccurate since there are so many moron posers in the Midwest and all over.

Well, he's been threatening to run for president since at least the late 80's, I think. No doubt we have reality television to thank/blame for him actually getting the nomination! I'm sure we can at least agree on that, Mr. Oster1. : )

While I do appreciate the effort by President Obama to make healthcare a basic human right, it most definitely is far from a success, and a far cry from what I believe should be a basic right in this country, the right to healthcare regardless of how rich or poor, healthy or ill a person is. You know, like it is in most other Western countries. I think it's ironic that we spend billions to protect us from our enemies, or potential enemies, or "friends" who we'll manage to turn into enemies, while thousands of people die every year from entirely preventable conditions because they cannot afford to go to the doctor. I think it's outrageous and disgraceful.

I'm curious where you're getting this 20% unemployment statistic, although I'm not aware of specifics, I know that sounds high, and I know that it's about half of what it was a few years ago.

Politically speaking, I don't agree too much with Republican ideals, but all of that aside, I was trying to give my opinion on  poster's question regarding the attraction of a certain demographic to Trump. Personally, I think Trump is a seriously mentally ill and despicable human being. His treatment of the disabled, of women, of people of certain heritage and/or religious persuasion makes me ill. He is in no way qualified to be president, and I think that the fact that he's even gotten the nomination makes this country look woefully ignorant. I'm not "blaming" him for anything, though, not even for that. He didn't nominate himself, after all. : )
