Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Any of you out there "of a certain age" having problems with your balance? It seems falls occur more as we age. Have you taken a fall?
I seem to have developed a mild form of vertigo, so my balance is not that great. I have not taken a fall, but I've come close if I've turned around too quickly. There's an over-the-counter medication for motion sickness that has the same active ingredient as the prescription the doc wrote for me and does the same thing at a fraction of the cost.
Me too L. I did fall a couple of days ago. I tripped over a throw rug and fell. I thought I'd broken a toe but it just turned out to be a sprain. If I turn quickly or don't pause after I get up from a chair to make sure I've got my balance it isn't good. I finally woke up and smelled the coffee. I've removed throws rugs including a very large hooked unicorn rug my sister made me about 30 years ago. I have to move MINDFULLY and PURPOSEFULLY and SLOWLY. It's hard to adjust but adjust I must. Slow down. What's the hurry? Where's the fire? One of the side effects of getting older I expect. Thank you for your thoughtful and informative reply sweetie. Getting older ain't for wimps fer shure but it beats the alternative! :) ((hugs))
I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself any worse. I fell in the kitchen and there was nothing to grab onto and i went down on my left side like a ton of bricks. I had a huge black and blue mark on my hip for a long time. Yes, moving purposefully is a good thing. :) Happy Sunday. :)
