.
I"ve fought them all my life........I'm 74 now but back in my 20's I decided to live by this motto:
'no matter what you do/say/think/feel, someone, somewhere will probably criticize you for it.....therefore, live your life
the way YOU want.........'.
and I"ve never regretted it............
I'm gay and so the stereotypical 'go to college (I went to cosmetology school),,,get married.......(obviously I didn't!!)......buy a home (been renting since 1961..........1961!!!! & love it)..........and so on....
no stereotypes for me, except of course for those facing a gay man..........but all in all I can look back on my life, working years, etc., with great fondness, as I did what I wanted!!!!!
When my niece's daughter graduated high school I wrote her a letter,,,,,a real letter! not an email......I told her to please read it when she was by herself.......I told her the same thing.'live your live the way YOU wanna live it'.....DO what YOU wanna do with it'...........'if you wanna run away & join the circus for a year before you settle down to your education, THEN DO IT".....of course that was an extreme example, but she knew what I meant!!!
happy to say she loved the letter & so did her parents....
anyway, you younger people, DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH YOUR LIFE........
college? not for everyone; certainly not for me!!
how about a trade school? where would we be without our plumbers/mechanics/electricians, and so on, and for my own profession, where'd we be without barbers & hairdressers??? huh? think how awful the world would be without people having nice hair & great haircuts!!!!!!!!
anyway, that's how I feel....and since I DO tend to go on too long, I shall now stop!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
