I've never been pregnant, and don't know what it feels like.

Although my one and only pregnancy was 32 years ago, I remember it like yesterday. He was not planned by us. I was scared the entire time not knowing what to expect. I wanted a healthy baby that was predominant in my mind.

I remember asking a family member what to expect when I felt him move for the first time. I was told that it would feel like butterflies in my stomach. I waited and waited for him to move. When he finally did, it did feel like butterflies. Later, he would get under my ribs and kick. I loved every single moment and cherish him. He's a grown man now and I'm just waiting for him and my daughter-in-law to bless us with a little one. This post was edited by easyjolene at December 16, 2018 8:44 AM MST

  • My daughter was planned (she's 30 years old), but I did not enjoy being pregnant at all.  I was lucky that I didn't have morning sickness. I loved the feeling of her kicks, and sometimes it felt like she was jogging.  That part was adorable.   I didn't enjoy the attention I received being pregnant, I always felt disgusted that people would just touch my belly without asking, I felt awkward being so big, and sleeping during the ninth month, forget about it.  All of those reasons and then some are why I stopped at one baby.     She was a fantastic baby though.     My daughter is due in April, and I can NOT wait.

  • Lovely answer, Lavender. I love your honesty.
I never touch a pregnant woman's belly, even if she invites me to feel her baby move. I don't feel comfortable about it. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at December 16, 2018 5:20 AM MST

  • Thank you, Neelie.   I too would never touch a pregnant woman's belly.   I haven't even done that to my daughter, nor would I even if she didn't mind.   I find it very creepy and weird.

As a woman, not a girl, I gave birth twice.  I did not enjoy pregnancy. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at December 16, 2018 8:00 AM MST
