Not an option I would take.  Currently what I dislike is protected by the Secret Service.

    Actually there's a 4th choice - change it.

If, for example, I didn't like the way my hair looked, I could...

    1. Never look at my reflection again for the rest of my life.
    2. Simply ignore my hair when I do see my reflection.
    3. I could say, "hair will be hair, what can you do?" (accept it)
    4. I could fix it (comb, cut, wash, etc.).

In this case, avoiding it isn't a viable choice.  Unless you're a vampire, you're going to see your reflection sooner or later.
Ignoring it won't fix the problem.  Problems rarely fix themselves.
    Accepting it works.
Fixing the problem can either solve it or make it worse.  However, unless one tries they'll never know.

To answer your question (on a personal level), I would have to say it depended on what the something I didn't like was.   For example, if it was that I didn't like the sun rising in the east, I would have to accept it as can't be avoided, changed or ignored.

There are things one doesn't like over which one has zero control Shuhak. So changing it is not an option. I was thinking about engaging with people we don't like. Why do it  if you can avoid/ignore? Some folks purposely engage with those they dislike because they get off on insults and attacks and smacking down. I don't so I avoid such folks. That was the behind-the-scenes inspiration for this question. I don't like the don. I have no power to change him. So when he is on TV I mute it so I don't have to listen. I don't buy books of authors I don't enjoy. Steven King is one of them. I don't  eat food I dislike. I don't change it. There is no need when avoidance takes care of it. You are absolutely right of course. Where you do have power over or control do something about it. Don't just bit** about it. I wish I had more power over more things but sadly I don't. As for fixing problems. How do you "fix" other people? Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday! :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 19, 2018 9:30 AM MST
