Breaking promises made means a lot to some and nothing to others. Is breaking a promise to YOU devastating or do you just roll over?.

When people make promises to you do you know they will break them and you don't care? Is  promise worth anything to you or depending on who does the breaking nothing? SIGH. Promises used to mean something to those who made them and those they were made to too. What happened?

I was promised something about 6 years ago...I'm still waiting. I knew it was a lie, anyway. I keep any promise I make to the best of my ability.

Since I don't know the nature of the "something" you were promised I'm flying blind here Ele. Now did circumstances change? Was the "promise" so outrageously impossible to keep it never should have been made in the first place? Did this person (assuming it is a person and not a company or government) break promises to you in the past? Did you do something inadvertently to drive the promiser to stiff you? If you make a promise to love someone until death do you part and that person betrays you or harms you in some way aren't all bets off? Now if none of those questions apply to your situation it's been 6 years. Maybe it will take longer to keep than you thought. Was any time frame mentioned within which that promise was supposed to be activated? Sorry for all the questions but I don't have enough info to know if I should commiserate with you or tell you that your expectations timing-wise aren't realistic. Thank you for your reply!  :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 25, 2018 11:20 AM MST
