Do You Formulate Your Opinions About a Politician By "Reverse Barometry"?

In general I do not.  I've usually formulated my opinions about pols by way of researching them, listening to them, etc. long before the pundits get up to bat...but I must confess that I've reexamined that method of late in light of liberals' irrational ravings regarding Trump.

To be succinct, if Trump drives the denizens of the party of slavery this crazy, he MUST have some damned good qualities. The enemy of my enemy ...

I don't really know if I can answer this right but I'll try. I happen to judge on numerous things. Irony here is one of them and not what the opposition says but how they act. There's a lot of things that don't make sense when people have problems with Trump over Hillary. They slam Trump over every little thing he says but to me all that amounts down to is "Trump hurt my feelings, I'm going to leave because he's an a**hole waaaaaaaaa waaaaaaa waaaa where's my bottle... I need my safe space right NOW!?!"

When Hillary has already leaked out classified information not to mention Benghazi.....these same people would rather have Hillary leaking out classified information and taking party favors (money) from countries that hate us then someone who is a bit abrasive but means well even though he doesn't have a filter and it is shown he can work with other people as he has been having meetings with various groups including Hispanic.

Hillary has somewhat been manipulating people through staying in of the background and letting the media defend her. If you haven't noticed they were counting the days since her last press conference (I don't know if that's changed or not) it was like hundred something days. I believe she does this kind of stuff on purpose. They say Trump is bashing the media and they don't like it but Hillary is doing the same in a way. Yet the double standard they place is amazing.

So here's how I feel... all politicians are corrupt (varying degrees people are more corrupt than others) I happen to believe as a core principal when deciding anything is that ALL people are corrupt. Now I don't believe that people always have bad intentions (I feel like I am using corrupt and bad in two different senses here) but I feel like as a whole when thinking about specifically our systems there's a reason why every single system always affects one group of people over the other. Doesn't matter which system. It's just because at the heart of it people only go by their experiences but our systems are created to take care of "all" but when it comes down to it most people don't know "how" to take care of all not when humans are naturally biased to begin with.

So with that said... the bottom line for me is knowing all that.. when it comes to my opposition.. I have to then question if people don't see all that then I cert. don't trust their opinion on who to vote for!!! The same people who bully me about Trump and they are so anti Trump.... they really fail to actually talk with anyone especially to people like me to make me understand why they would vote for Hillary. The problem is they never really explain anything they just either avoid, name call, or change the subject. I don't trust people like that. I've been in one too many debates to know when someone is trying to go to great lengths not to explain something but then demands it from me when it comes to my views. There's something off about it all but I can't really explain it.

I don't really know how I feel regarding Trump. As I said in another forum I am libertarian but here besides the fact of Hillary failing to tell me why I should vote for her... the enemy of my enemy is def. my friend. Exactly how I feel.

I'll answer without a long winded explanation and cut straight to it.

I make my own opinions based on actions, logic, character, affiliation, history, and gut-feeling.

For example:

I despise Trump and find the very thing that appeals to his supporters disturbing and dangerous. He's a 70 year old who will not change his origninal opinions and comments overnight. He runs as an anti-establishment candidate, but he is the embodiment of the establishment using xenophopia, fear mongering, empty promises, and he lacks detail or substance in his intent.  His focus relies heavily on criticism, fear, and insults.  

I despise Hillary and simply don't trust her, I believe she (like Trump) will say anything and she has been dishonest. I believe she is only getting the nomination because she is a woman and  that she provides "special favours" to her friends.  She is what we used to call a moderate republican and is the worst type of neocon. I can never forgive her or the DNC for what they did to Bernie Sanders.

With that said, my original intent was to vote for Jill Stein who appeals to my libertarion-socialist views or write-in Bernie as a protest, but...

I've decided to sell my soul and vote for Clinton.  Why? The SC nominations. More importantly...If something happens to the 70 yo Trump, Mike Pence will become POTUS. That can never, ever be allowed to happen.

My primary focus will be the lower-tier elections in an effort to make Trump as impotent as possible should he win.

The bonus is that I can smear the Trump fans faces into their own poo poo if he loses. 

There is nothing to reverse when Trump is in the mix.   He is so revolting he speaks for himself.

I don't like Trump for some of the same reasons.  Apart from being completely vacuous, intellectually, he's not a very likeable individual.  I haven't liked him since The Apprentice (to say nothing of his multiple bankruptcies which left his vendors high and dry...oh, and using eminent domain to force little old ladies out of their homes!).  I wouldn't say I despised the man, though.  In fact, I've only/truly despised two presidents; Clinton and Reagan.

And that's where I was going with this.  With each new obsessive rant on the part of liberals, anyone who's ever been bullied, vilified, dehumanized, berated, etc. begins to identify with him more and more.  In short order it'll get to the point where the bulk of his slowly improving poll numbers will be further bolstered by the sympathy vote.  That worked in Knob-job Billy's favor back during the Starr hearings--so much so that it precipitated a rout in both houses of congress.  Do you really want to see a repeat of that with Trump?

...Then you shouldn't have to talk about him at all...unless you want to get him elected on the sympathy vote. :-)

Bill..I'll give somehwat of a pass to simply because the economy was well, despite his flaws, but Reagan...He's not worthy of the pdestal that many put him on
