Discussion»Questions»Communication» When you tell someone you'll do something "ASAP", do you really mean "ASAP as long as it doesn't interfere with my life too much"?
I do mean it when I say it will be done ASAP, I also ask them what their time-frame is. If it is doable I will get it done, if not I tell them - period. No sense in pissing someone off do to a misunderstanding and crushed expectations. In most cases I also send them and the affected teams an email stating the deliverable and the time frame.
