  • It's all part of the political narrative to get votes.

When Bush was prez, we didn't see this outrage against Muslims.

Note of interest: Trump donated money to the horrible Clinton foundation

I don't think Muslims are terrible people.  However, even if I did, it wouldn't matter.  Because whether I put the gas in my own vehicle or whether I hailed a taxi, hired a limo, called Uber or boarded a plane to the Bahamas, I'd be paying for the gas one way or the other.

Who told you Muslims were terrible?  Islam might be, but Muslims are pretty much like the rest of us.

You're right about the philosophical inconsistency of buying oil from Islamic nations, though.  We should cease immediately!

Correct on all counts.  I would remind you, though, that Bush promulgated that "religion of peace' crap because he was an idiot.  Most Muslims may be peaceful, but Islam is not.

Right...so it's high time we ceased importing oil and produced our own.

...And coal, and shale oil, and nuclear, and hydroelectric...pretty much anything which gets us out of the middle east.

  • Individuals, cultures and states are separate things.

It's meaningless to compare the exchange of knowns with the exchange of unknowns. It's meaningless to compare the voluntary transactions with involuntary transactions.

Money for oil is a simple exchange that we understand. Our dependency on their oil is a threat to us. Their dependency on income from us, is a threat to them.

Money for "something" is unclear and suspicious. We have no idea what back room deals she has made and how beholden she is to them.

If I did think that way i could argue that it is because obama was blocking the pipeline that would stop that.

But i don't think muslims are terrible people and I work with many muslims and I am friends with many muslims.

My problem is that hillary is accepting bribes.  It does not matter if she is accepting bribes from people I like or people I hate, she just shouldn't be accepting bribes. I think that is simple.

I've never known Muslims to own and sell oil.   I didn't know I was buying Muslim oil.    I thought I was buying oil out of the ground manufactured by literally thousands of people.   I am pretty sure that it is not owned by Joe Muslim.   I remember, while growing up, being taght  that Japanese and Koreans were the terrible people we should not do business with.  They were the enemy.

Then it was those awful Viet Namese.   Turns out my massage teacher is from Viet Nam and I love him to death.  I'm glad he was not slaughtered before he got here.

    Hello again, t:

Lemme help.  MOST of the gasoline you put in your car was once OWNED by Saudi Arabians, and last I checked, they're Muslims.
