Government is SUPPOSED TO serve/work on behalf of/protect the people. Elsewise it is the enemy of the people. When do we CONQUER THE ENEMY?

Since January 2017 this gubment has serviced ultimatum boy and his seedy slimy henchmen SOLELY. A proven enemy. It now holds hostage the pay of 800,000 people WHOM IT IS SUPPOSED TO SERVE and PROTECT. Ultimatum boy certainly is not a good steward of American history. Everything he is SUPPOSED TO DO he has not done. Now he is holding on and holding on and holding on because he thinks he is WINNING. SIGH. Do all LOSERS really confuse LOSING with winning?

I read an interesting book ... it was called "Dial 911 and Die".
It's about how courts have consistently ruled that government, in fact, has NO duty to "serve and protect" the average citizen.
The only people government has a duty to protect, are those in a "special relation" ... witness protection, informants, etc.

Really Walt? I'm gonna GOOGLE the oath of office a prez takes and refresh my memory about what he/she SWEARS TO DO! Thank you for your reply. "We has met the enemy and the enemy is us". Apologies to Walt Kelly and POGO. SIGH. The more things change the more they stay the same. Comforting as he** ain't it?  :(   Well as usual you are right. There is no constitutional obligation for the prez to preserve protect defend the country or the people. He only has to PRESERVE PROTECT DEFEND the Constitution. I thought that was the job of SCOTUS.  Boy was I wrong! Sheesh!  :( This post was edited by RosieG at January 9, 2019 7:08 AM MST

The book came out years ago, and was a real eye-opener.
The title comes from the fact that even if you dial 911, many states don't place any priority on your emergency.
EG: a police officer responding to a 911 call about someone breaking in your house, could choose to stop and help get a cat out of a tree.  And there is nothing you could do about it, even if you were injured by the criminal.  Because the police have no duty to protect you.

So I think those "To protect and serve" signs on police vehicles should be removed as false advertising.  LOL

OMG! It seems as if  EVERYTHING stands on QUICKSAND. If the police have no duty to protect you what the he** do we need them for? Protect businesses or those who contribute to police funds? Sheesh. The worser it gets the worser it gets. Thank you for your reply Walt. Now what?

Maybe all government officials should have to follow modified Four Laws of Robotics:

    • (Zero Law) May not harm humanity, or by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.
    • (First Law) May not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm, except when required to do so in order to prevent greater harm to humanity itself.
    • (Second Law) Must obey any orders given to it by proper authority, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law or cause greater harm to humanity itself.
    • (Third Law) Must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law or cause greater harm to humanity itself.

When it comes down to it ... aren't most societies' laws based on those 4 basic ideals?

What people fail to acknowledge EVEN  NOW is that the President of the United States is the ENEMY of the PEOPLE.
