I try to as best as I can, though it isn't easy. Though I suppose that's the point.
I try to always treat others the way I want to be treated, and I pray for those who despitefully use me.
I'm Christian {Catholic} but I'm not perfect. I do not respect those who would disrespect me, in fact I just might go one step further and smack'em upside the head, lol.
What is the right thing to do and our performance in doing that thing are two Very DIFFERENT Issues....
It is good to embrace and hold up perfection and declare it good and right.. even if you often fail in performing that which to hold high..
(Romans 7:21-25) I find, then, this law in my case: When I wish to do what is right, what is bad is present with me. 22 I really delight in the law of God according to the man I am within, 23 but I see in my body another law warring against the law of my mind and leading me captive to sin’s law that is in my body. 24 Miserable man that I am! Who will rescue me from the body undergoing this death? 25 Thanks to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So, then, with my mind I myself am a slave to God’s law, but with my flesh to sin’s law.

You are a much better person than I am m'dear. I do not pray for those who are spiteful and treat me disrespectfully. I also do not wish them any harm. I do sometimes pity them and I am ALWAYS grateful than I am me and am not them. But if I were to pray to God on their behalf I would not
