"I've got mine get your own and leave me alone!" Basic right-wing conservative ideology! Simplicity.

No one is entitled to anything.  People work and some people just work harder, sacrifice more, save their income, become more successful.  Has always been that way.  Natural economics.  Just as there will always be poor people there will always be wealthy people. Not a matter of entitlement but just one of making money. Simplicity itself.

I meant the philosophy is simple, not that it is simple to make money!  I guess for some people it is.  This post was edited by officegirl at January 30, 2019 9:15 PM MST

I'm genuinely astounded by the ignorance of lower and middle class Trumpicans. I really think that there's brainwashing involved, because I know Trumpites who are otherwise intelligent individuals.

It's one thing for people who don't and have never struggled financially to turn a blind eye to the inequity, but driving through rural areas and seeing MAGA signs in the front yards of trailers and shacks is truly puzzling.

    Happy Wednesday, Rosie!

Hi there Sweetie! Long time no see. Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Wednesday. I disagree with you about one thing my friend. I believe "intelilgence" and being a  trumpican are mutually exclusive. I honestly do. There is nothing remotely intelligent about supporting that guy. I mean can you turn intelligence on and off? I'm gonna ask! Happy New Year! ((hugs))

Not at all.  Because for many people whether poor or wealthy  there is dignity in self-determination.  They don't want to be told what to think and how to act and what to believe by anyone who supposedly "knows what is best" for them - they simply want to be themselves.  And make their own choices.

It seems to me that's exactly what's happening; they're being told what to think and how to vote, despite it being against their own interests.

Instead of blaming the unscrupulous companies for employing illegal immigrants in order to avoid paying taxes and become even wealthier, they stupidly blame the immigrants, who want nothing more than to survive.

Anyone who has more compassion for an unborn AMERICAN fetus than an independently living being who happened to be born in a 'sh!thole' country has seriously f-ed up morals, IMO. That seems to be the mindset of most Trumpites, and it's incredibly hypocritical.

Who is telling them?  No one.  Just as no one told me who to vote for.  My husband and I made up our own minds to vote for Pres. Trump - certainly no "Russian agents" told us to vote for him!  Not sure what respecting in utero life has to do with unscrupulous companies or illegal immigrants.  And to many of us this is NOT a "shithole" country - we were brought up to respect our country and honor its greatest institutions.  And we were taught that our love of country obliged us to respect freedom and work hard and make something of ourselves and help others or at least try.  I know that they now teach in the schools how bad a country this is but that was not what they taught when I was growing up.

Why? These are the people whose good jobs left because of NAFTA. So now they are working at Walmart for less and fewer hours.  People who were told your job left overseas, that is just how the system works, go back to school it is not coming back.
People whose jobs were closed because the Dems did not like the product like coal so they regulated them out. (Obama said "if you open a new coal plant, I will bankrupt you"...paraphrased)
People who were told we cannot stand up to China and others using unfair trade practices to take jobs and unfairly compete against American businesses.
People who value the life of the unborn. People who were tired of being told you can not say Merry Christmas...you must say Happy Holidays. People who are tired of being told their kid cannot pray in school or even mention God.
People who now have to compete with illegal workers for jobs, driving down their wages. People with small businesses who now have to compete with other businesses working illegal workers giving them an unfair advantage. People who want the border secure. (More agents, more tech and a wall were needed) It has been promised for 30yrs by both sides.

I believe anyone is entitled life liberty and the pursuit of happiness...these rights we are given by God not the gov. We are also entitled to the same rights given to all equally from the gov as well.

We all should work our hardest, make good decisions for our future and do what we are able. We are all responsible for our own well being. That said we have a wonderful gov which does and should provide a safety net for those who still need help....with a work requirement for those of able. (This excludes the disabled, elderly etc) This post was edited by my2cents at January 30, 2019 9:15 PM MST
