Why would folks who live near the Canadian border be terrified of those who might "invade" our country at the southern border?

Does being a Canadian AUTOMATICALLY mean you are a "GOOD GUY" and being a Mexican AUTOMATICALLY mean you are a BAD GUY? So is it strictly geographical then?

I think that folks who live on the northern side of that border are more terrified of someone invading across THEIR soithern border ...

Canda is also beefing up their border security and deportation because many of the illegals are going to Canada through the USA.

TOUCHE! I believe you know that my two favorite countries are Canada and Australia (I ADORE the people) with England (despite all its problems I love the Brits a lot too) being very close behind but barely. In fact years ago when my kid was 12 I think he mentioned wanting to move to Alaska for some reason and I countered with "how about Canada"? We never moved of course. And I met some really sweet gals from Australia when we lived in Massachusetts(did I ever tell you that? I bet I did once upon a time on  Answerbag!). I forget which part of Australia but they had been to California and said that southern California beaches reminded them of home so I gather they lived somewhere close to the ocean. Anyway that's my story and I'm stuck with it! Thank you for your reply R! :)

Actually, about 1/2 of illegals caught at the northern border are Mexicans. But there is only about 10% caught in the north (3000) vs the south over (300,000).
