As of 2017 governments and parliaments of 29 countries as well as 48 of the 50 states in the United States have recognized the event as GENOCIDE. The two states who haven't are Alabama and Mississippi.
The United States Government has repeatedly REFUSED to recognize it's occurrence. Why? Well ya see it's due to their "strategic alliance with Turkey". Turkey insists it never happened. The United States values Turkey's sensitivities to the truth more than it does TRUTH and so of course they ignore. Some of Obama's aides have apologized for his lack of dealing with it. His refusal to utter the words ARMENIAN GENOCIDE. The slackers and lackers are all chickensh**! Appalling that a truth that is so heartbreakingly obvious is denied for political posturing! Good job American gubment. Keep it up. Democrat or Republican or Reptilian or Cockroach prez. It matters not. You are all worthless and liars when it comes to honoring a nation's history of pain and suffering. You look the other way. Germany acknowledged the HOLOCAUST so it's okay for America to acknowledge it too. Right? But poor sensitive delicate flower that Turkey is dare not be subjected to truth. It is much too horrific for them to deal with so we must shield them from it and pretend their denial is true and what happened didn't. Shame on all of you perpetrators of lies and culprits of promulgating them by your silence. Political party is irrelevant.
